The Evolution of Social Justice in the US: A Collection of Images
Hello, I’m Grace Wagner! I am currently a member of National Art Honor Society, National Honor Society, and I am a peer leader at Presentation Academy. Throughout my years at Pres, I have discovered my greatest passions are found in both art and activism -specifically the empowerment of women, civil rights, environmentalism, and overall equality for all.
My SIP project is based on the social inequalities found in the United States today, and how they relate to our history as a country. I am using photography as a way to show which long term problems still need to be addressed, as well as the ways we have grown in a positive manner as a nation. I have a number of individuals with experience in photography, set design/decor, and American history helping me to develop my project to its full potential. Overall I hope to gain a better understanding of how we are developing as a country, as well as how art can be used to guide a necessary discussion about the things happening in our world. I am hoping that my project also gives me new resources for my future and helps me to discover myself in a new way as an artist.
My final product will be a collection of images that will be showcased in a gallery at the end of the school year.
